Dash and Splash is a 5-kilometre dash along the length of Sandown Bay on the Isle of Wight.
This beautiful area has the largest bay on the island which, at low tide, offers a unique run along the hard sand. There are 43 groynes in total to negotiate along the 5-kilometre run, most of which are a straight run through large gaps. The remaining 14 will be splashed around, which at low tide will be mostly ankle deep. Two groynes could be waist deep, these will have marshals in the water.
Dash and Splash is a fun run and not a race.
The run is planned for Saturday 14th August 2021 starting at 9:15AM. The run starts at Shanklin Rowing Club, and dashes along the beach, under Sandown pier, to finish at Yaverland opposite the Yaverland Sailing Club.
