For this year only The Alternative 7 Hills is giving those who missed it a second chance to ride arguably the best route ever.
Now is your chance to earn the Alternative 7-Hills Outer Cog medal by completing the amazing route unassisted in one or more rides and feel a part of the exclusive ‘7-Hills Club’.
Enter below and download the GPX file and complete the route either solo or with friends until October 1st 2022. Then be awarded the first gold COG MEDAL, this guarantees you a place into the October 9th Edition of the ‘Classic’ 7-Hills event where you will earn the second inner medal to complete the 2022 set.
This new route requires all the effort, strength and endurance as the more familiar ‘Classic’ route but with an added few miles and a little more climbing. Completing and this event will be a real challenge but you can spread your this challenge over one or more rides.
GP Sport and Wight Mountain have teamed up to bring the Alternative 7 -Hills then the ‘Classic’ event later in the year. This dual-event special year is a celebration of the Five years since the return of the event to the MTB calendar.
This course will take in some of the Islands toughest off road climbs as well as a couple of surprises and will cover roughly 28 miles from Sandown Airport to Tapnell Farm, climbing about 975m (3,800ft).
This virtual event will be unaided, unmarked and riders will follow their own GPX or map. (additional information is and help and advice is available at [email protected]). Just send us a link to your Strava or screen shots of your rides. Please obey the Highway code and ride with courtesy at all times.
If you finish at Tapnell Farm, the fully licensed Farm Shop during opening hours a range of drinks and snacks will be available, while hot meals can be had by booking a table at the The Cow Restaurant (booking essential). Tapnell Farm Park and other activities (Archery & Axe Throwing) will be open to keep families entertained whilst waiting for the riders to return. These must be booked online in advance to avoid disappointment.
Free parking is available at Sandown Airport and Tapnell. Both are limited so plan ahead.
Standard entry is £ 10.00 (available until 23:59 on 01.10.22).
Junior entries (11 – 16) are £ 10.00. All juniors are to be accompanied on the course at all times.

complete both 7 Hills events to make a combined medal well worthy of the effort.

Please note, all t-shirts will be produced to order and will be available to collect from a local bike shop when ready. We do not send out t-shirts before the event.
